Centennial High School senior, Richard Cho, has landed an internship with Assemblywoman Young Kim. Cho is currently an intern for Skillify. He has been with the organization for five months. Skillify is a private-career readiness program that includes in-person workshops and virtual coaching to help students explore their interests, find meaningful opportunities, and have a greater sense of direction, confidence, and independence.

Despite having a full plate, with school and a new internship, Cho dedicates every other weekend to supporting fellow high school students through Skillify.

“Not many college students, let alone high school students, have this kind of initiative, rigor, and professional experience,” said Darlene, Skillify Student Success Consultant,  “I am continually impressed with Richard’s hard work, commitment and success, and hope he can act as inspiration for high school students in the Corona-Norco-Eastvale Community.”

Cho says his favorite part about interning at Skillify is providing his fellow high school peers with the same, if not more, opportunities he has had throughout his high school journey.

“Whether it’s providing assistance on resume writing or sharing my high school experiences and offering advice,” says Cho, “Watching the students blossom into young professionals, leaders, and most importantly, interns in their career choice makes me truly happy.

He advises students to stay proactive.

“Don’t wait for your parents, counselor or teachers to come to you with opportunities, take initiative and make those opportunities for yourself,” says Cho.

A desire to leave a legacy in his community is what keeps Cho motivated. He plans to continue his hard work and achieve all of his goals.
